Sorry, all. Shift24 posted this just before I did and I didn't see his post.

My Miata was driven into work this morning as well, also in Wisconsin. Hardtop securely affixed for me though. WHat a nutjob!!

I was coming here to say "does not count unless the top is down" (because Kinja Crop), and was pleasantly surprised to see top down.

I drove my 99 Miata this morning, soft-top up.
Some days I wish I had a hard top for it, but no money to search one out and pay for it.
Driving in that weather with the top down may be cause for psychological hold and evaluation. Both for a danger to one's self, and others once the driver gets too frost-bitten to drive... and danger to the Miata's interior.

Either..
1. Lost a bet
2. Stubbornly justifying purchase to wife
3. Unstable

I have always wanted to do this with my e30 but I wouldn't no where to leave my hardtop in the meantime.

I understand where you are coming from, and finding the hardtop was a hassle, but man do I love it! Ten times quieter inside, and the tiny rear window on the softtop used to infuriate me, the window on the hardtop is far wider. I knew it was worth it the first time I looked in my rearview mirror; Oh my god! I can see whats back there!!

I'll bet, on both the 'quieter' and the 'visibility' points.
